Last night, Beyonce and Jay-Z kicked off their On The Run Tour in Miami, Florida.
The celebrity power pair left fans speechless with an incredible 42-song set list. Images of their performance have flooded the internet, and fans gushed their adoration, one fan wrote “You gave me EVERY BIT OF MY LIFE TONIGHT!!!! Yassss!!! Thank you! #ontheruntour #OnTheRunTourMiami”
The husband and wife stars opened the show at the Sun Life Stadium with a performance of 2003 hit Bonnie and Clyde.
Bey burst onto stage through a cloud of smoke in a fishnet leotard and matching mask, while rapper Jay Z rocked a beanie, chunky gold chain, and shades. To be honest, it was looked like that she thought she was going to a club and he thought he was going for lunch…
Beyonce slipped into a range of super-sexy figure-hugging outfits throughout the show and the pair performed their solo hits as well as their hottest collaborations, including Big Pimpin, Holy Grail (Bey performed Justin Timberlake’s part), Drunk In Love, Run The World, Crazy in Love and Upgrade U.
The pair also projected an intimate video of their April 2008 wedding day onto huge screens on stage as they closed the show with Young Forever.
The clip showed the pair saying the vows and Jay finally putting a ring on it…
I did look look like an epic concert to be at.
However, something doesn’t sit quite right with me. After THAT elevator incident, divorce rumours and couples therapy, it feels like this tour is forced for commercial gains rather than the love of music. Are they as much in love as they are trying to make us believe?
Beyonce has literally just finished her Mrs Carter WORLD TOUR, and now she’s pushing herself physically and mentally straight onto another 16 date tour with her husband. Where does Blue Ivy fit into this? And why all of a sudden are they revealing video footage from their ultra private wedding ceremony?
It just doesn’t all add up to me. I am also beginning to be kind of over the HYPE.
I don’t think people believe the projected perfection anymore.
Let me know what you think…
