Remember those post ‘Break The Internet’ days all the way back in April when people were mad that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were on the cover of Vogue?
While the couple were fully clothed – in wedding attire – the question was of whether or not they were suitable choices for a high-end fashion magazine.
It doesn’t feel so scandalous anymore does it?
Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Anna Wintour has FINALLY addressed the critics, speaking to to former CNN journalist Alina Cho, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday night.
“I see the role of Vogue to reflect what’s going on in the culture,” said Anna. “The first celebrity that I put on the cover of Vogue was Madonna, and that was considered completely controversial at the time, too. It’s such a long time ago probably no one remembers, but she was a very controversial figure. Now she’s part of the establishment.”
“I think if we just remain deeply tasteful and just put deeply tasteful people on the cover, it would be a rather boring magazine! Nobody would talk about us. It’s very important that people do talk about us,” continued Anna.
“I hope another Kim Kardashian comes along this year!”
Oh dear, it seems like the Kardashian’s are slowly taking over the world…
