Snoop Dogg Is Now A Co-Owner Of Reddit

This is why I LOVE Snoop Dogg…

I mean it’s not often you would find the Lion rubbing shoulders with Silicon Valley’s elite.

However, the Nutin But a G Thang singer has joined some of the technology scene’s best known venture capitalists in funding viral news site Reddit.

 

Reddit, which refers to itself as the ‘front page of the internet’, has just raised $50 million from investors including Snoop Dogg, Netscape co-founder Marc Andreessen, Oscar winning actor Jared Leto, Sequoia Capital’s Alfred Lin and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel.

As part of the deal, the new investors plan to give 10 per cent of their share in the company to Reddit users as a sign of appreciation for their role in making it a success.

Dr Dre better watch his back…Snoop is coming to get you!!!

Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion – 02 Academy Glasgow – Sunday 8th June (REVIEW)

On Sunday night, I had the pleasure of attending the Glasgow tour date of the man who changes his name more than he changes his pants, Snoop Dogg (or Lion – one of the two).

The crowd was warmed up by London-born-Orlando-bred Knytro, who was discovered last year by Chase and Status and was fresh from supporting Public Enemy in Brixton the night before.

Knytro kept the notoriously hard to please Glasgweigen crowd captivated as he performed tracks from his mixtape Project Harpoon and his latest release, The Griffin EP. I was lucky enough to watch the show from the stage and I even got a shout out.

In anticipation of the main event of the night, the crowd were well and truly hyped up.

However, one thing Snoop wasn’t obviously aware of is that you don’t mess with the Glasgow crowd. Before he decided to come on the stage (at 10pm) I thought it was going to kick off. There was a lot of booing and hissing at the fact he made them wait so long.

This all changed as soon as the hip hop legend hit the stage. Performing a variety of hits – old and new, from Boom, to Gin and Juice and Wiggle – Snoop Lion, Dogg, and Snoopadelic got the crowd on his side. He even sampled his idol Bob Marley.

To top an amazing night they even gave me pizza…on stage…

And although I met him for a split second, he was a humble and friendly guy…
